to the Future
The IRS recognizes the BYM as a 501(c)3 charitable
organization.
The
BYM has seen success because of the outstanding financial support
from the Bootheel Region. The museum has hosted more than 140,000
visitors; it has 20 member schools and over 100 individual, family
and Grandpass memberships. And we're still growing ...
The Children's Theater, a state-of-the-art
facility, has increased regional access to cultural programs that
would otherwise not be accessible to many children and families
in the area.
Our Children's Village, which gives
visitors a child's-eye view of the adult world. A new and larger
classroom also is ready to use for workshops, seminars, etc.
Our newest exhibit, This Island
Mars, offers unparalleled access to learning experiences about
space and robotics technology.
We are fortunate to have so much
space in which to expand the museum's exhibits and programs. The
need now, is to plan for the next millennium to develop further
the role the BYM has achieved in helping our young people meet
the challenges of the 21st Century.
Please consider how important it
is for our children to have all the educational opportunities
possible. Their generation and those to follow are the future
of the Third Millennium.
We cannot serve the children without
your support. You, too, can claim partnership in the success of
Southeast Missouri's only hands-on museum.
How to become a BYM Partner:
Memorial
Fund - Donations in memory of or in honor of someone can be
made at any time. The Bootheel Youth Museum acknowledges all memorials
to the family.
Exhibit
Sponsor - If you have an area of personal interest, supporting
a specific exhibit may be an option for you. Donors may underwrite
the investment in a new exhibit. Sponsors will be recognized at
the site of the exhibit. Contact Executive Director Patsy Reublin
for information pertaining to specific exhibits that have been
approved for inclusion in the museum, but have not yet been funded.
Exhibit sponsorships start at $1000.
Pathway
to the Future - Learning by doing is the educational philosophy
of the Bootheel Youth Museum. The exhibits and educational programs
are designed to supplement traditional educational resources.
While the concept of a children's
museum is normally associated with large metropolitan areas, the
Bootheel Youth Museum brings the same educational benefits to
the primarily rural area of Southeast Missouri. One way you can
participate is by helping the museum build a "Pathway to
the Future."
Personally engraved bricks are
being used to build a "pathway" that leads to the front
entrance of the museum. You, your family, your company or organization
can make a permanent mark on the future while supporting the Bootheel
Youth Museum.
These engraved bricks are being
offered in recognition of donations ranging from $50 to $200.
Print out a Pathway to the Future form and send it in to reserve
your brick!
Wall
of Fame - Inside the entrance to the museum is the "Wall
of Fame." Your "Wall of Fame" donation, ranging
from $500-$1,500, will purchase a personalized tile. A $1,500
donation will purchase a 12©x12© ceramic
tile with multicolor logo/art; $1,000 will purchase a 12©x12©
ceramic tile with one color logo/art; and $500 will purchase a
12©x12© ceramic tile with up to three lines
of text. Print out a Wall of Fame form and send it in with your
donation to be included!
